A driver was killed in a car accident Tuesday that shut down part of a busy road in Sparks for hours.
The accident happened just after 5pm Tuesday in the eastbound lanes of Vista Boulevard just south of the Golden Eagle Sports Complex.
Police say the driver, 44-year-old Curt Jordan of Sparks was speeding north on Vista when he drifted into the oncoming lane and hit a large brick decorative pillar.
Jordan's Toyota Tacoma pickup then started to roll and he was ejected. He died at the scene.
No one else was hurt.
Police say no evidence on scene suggests alcohol was involved, and toxicology reports are pending.
