Nevada Highway Patrol troopers have identified the Fallon man killed in a head-on collision earlier this week in Fallon.
It happened on State Route 116 at Churchill County Mile Marker 3 near Mesquite and Stillwater Roads.
Troopers say the driver, 29-year-old Nathan Miles Irwin of Fallon, was heading west on State Route 116 in a Volkswagen Jetta when for some reason he drifted into the oncoming lane hitting a Chevrolet Suburban head on.
The Jetta driver died on scene, while the other driver, 24-year-old Shawntay Michelle Fredricks of Schurz was flown by Careflight to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno with non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers say speeding is believed to be a factor in this accident and it's not known yet if alcohol was involved.
