Local Candidate Supporters Vie for Election Day Votes

Posted: Updated:

Both parties are hoping to deliver Nevada's six electoral votes to their candidate tomorrow. So, local supporters are pulling out all the stops today.

Democrats and Republicans have been very active on this last full day of campaigning.

They know this is the home stretch and that every vote will count.

"Here in Nevada we've had a great operation. People are at houses just like these across the state that just want to talk to neighbors. And everyday we have more excitement. People are getting excited they see the finish is in sight and they want to see that finish for Obama," says Linda Serrato, of the Obama for America Reno office.

"It'll be won or lost on the ground and that's why the folks behind me from all over the state and all over the country here supporting the Romney/Ryan ticket in Nevada. I think this is what's going to put us over the top on election day here in Nevada," says Republican National Committee spokesman.

Supporters of both the Democratic and Republican tickets made pushes for votes in northern Nevada today.

They went door-to-door in neighborhoods while volunteers manned the phones at campaign offices around town-- all trying to get out the vote.

Nevada voters have heard most of the arguments and more than 100,000 people in Washoe County have already early voted.

It's the people who will vote tomorrow who are the focus of these last-minute efforts.

Voting locations open at 7am Tuesday - and will stay open until 7pm.
