In an effort to keep our political coverage balanced, while one reporter was covering Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan's visit, another was talking with dozens of Obama supporters rallying outside the Reno-Sparks Convention Center on Thursday.
"I believe President Obama should have four more years," said Susan McNamara. "As a woman, I'm so happy that Obama is running. The Romney-Ryan philosophy would just abolish so many things we have come to expect."
The Executive Director for the Washoe County Democratic Party Pam duPre said she is protesting to make sure they don't lose their benefits.
"We have a lot of folks here who are simply saying, 'look, leave Medicare, leave Social Security alone. We've worked all our lives for these benefits, we deserve them."
Retired nurses, teachers and folks from manufacturing plants chanted, waved homemade signs, American flags and President Obama banners.
Larry Wilson said he worked more than 40 years in the automobile industry.
He told us his goal today is to expose dishonesty.
"The working class people need to be aware and not fall for some of the antics and games that are being played and the lies being told."
