Applications will begin Wednesday, November 28th, for Christmas Turkeys and Toy Assistance. This is the 6th year Toys for Tots and The Salvation Army have partnered to collect toys for this effort.
All applications and distributions are being handled by The Salvation Army at its Christmas Center, located at 115 E Moana Lane in Reno (former furniture store).
Nov. 28-30 Wednesday – Friday, 9 a.m. - 11:30 & 1 – 330 p.m.
Dec. 3-7 Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 11:30 & 1 – 3:30 p.m.
Dec. 1 & Dec 8 Saturdays, 9 a.m. – Noon
Closed Sundays
Those signing up for assistance must have the following documentation:
- Proof of Washoe County residency (rent or utility receipt with name & address)
- Income must fall within eligibility guidelines.
- ID for all family members
- Need birth certificate, school record or other document that shows birth date for each child.

The Salvation Army needs food, toys and personal hygiene items. Donations can be dropped off at the Christmas Center address above from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., seven days a week – and dropped off at our four area thrift stores from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Mon-Sat.
