Small Brushfire Breaks Out in Washoe Valley

Fire crews are currently attacking a small brushfire south of Reno in Washoe Valley.

The four-acre fire broke out around 12:30pm on Tuesday above Scripps Ranch on East Lake Boulevard (on federal land.)

Firefighters from the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, Bureau of Land Management and Carson City are all helping put out the flames along with Washoe County's RAVEN helicopter.

No structures are threatened at this time.

There's no immediate word on how it started, although firefighters tell us witnesses saw a car leaving the same area right before the fire broke out.
