The Sparks Heritage Museum celebrated Nevada Day (observed) with walking tours of historic downtown Sparks.
One of museum's board members took interested Nevadans on one-hour tours Friday morning of Victorian Square and the surrounding area.
They covered more than 100 years of Sparks history from the pioneer days to the rail days and through to modern times.
"I love history, I love Nevada history and it's such a unique business district and where we're going with downtown redevelopment. I think it plays a very important role," says board member Scott Carey.
Carey says many people don't even realize how much history there is in downtown Sparks.
For example, the Bank of Sparks building is almost a century old.
