The Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation donated a total of $221,000 to the Galena High track team, Reno High school golf team, the Children's Cabinet, First Tee of Northern Nevada, the Nevada Military Support Alliance and the Discovery Museum.

"When you're standing here today and you see the difference you're making and the lives that you're touching in the very community in which you live and raise a family and work in, to be able to give back to them is a defining moment," says RTO Foundation Executive Director Jana Smoley.

Since 1999, the foundation has donated $2.5 million to charity.
