Nevada Day Parade Saturday in Carson City

Thousands of spectators are expected to show up to watch this year's 148th annual Nevada Day Parade this Saturday morning in Carson City.

Nevada turns 148 years old on October 31.

This year's theme is Honoring Our Military & Families Past, Present, Future ...

Governor Brian Sandoval plus Sen. Dean Heller and Rep. Shelley Berkley will be in the parade.

Awards in many categories are given including one for best float, best band, best mounted equestrian group, and best historical.

The parade starts promptly at 10:00 AM with a fly over from the Fallon Naval Air Station and the Nevada Air Guard.

The parade route begins at Williams St./Hwy 50-E, and ends at Stewart St.; a length of 1.3 miles.  

200 entries are entered in this year's parade including Channel 2 News!
