You can help honor the Silver State's 148th birthday with tonight's Nevada Day Governor's Banquet.
All the money raised goes to Nevada Gold Star Families and Blue Star Mothers.
The banquet will be inside the Summit Pavilion at the Grand Sierra Resort Thursday.
Doors open at 6pm -- then dinner starts at 7pm.
Tickets are $45 per person - or $320 for a table of eight.
The GSR was packed last year - and organizers are hoping for an even bigger turnout tonight.
"Everybody just loved the experience last year, are anticipating coming back. The Grand Sierra was a gracious host and wanted us to come back. And here we are with a different theme, but again this is all in celebration of our statehood," says Rich Crombie.
Last year's event raised money for victims of the IHOP shooting in Carson City and the Reno Air Races crash.
This year -- proceeds are headed to both Gold Star Famlies of Nevada and Blue Star Mothers of America.
Representatives with the Blue Star Mothers say all the money raised tonight will be used to send Christmas packages to troops overseas in Afghanistan.
"Funds will go directly to pay for shipping for those packages. We have 98 active dudty and 7 commanders who we will be shipping to," says Paul Fleming of Blue Star Mothers of America.
