Money Watch Q & A: My Lease 2 Own

Posted: Updated:

If you would like to own your own home, but you cannot get the financing needed because of poor credit, there is an option that more northern Nevadans are considering. The "My Lease 2 Own" program teams you up with an investor, who buys the house of your choosing and then leases it back to you until you qualify to purchase it.

Greg Hughes started the My Lease 2 Own program, as well as Hughes Private Capital, and he says he just handed over house keys to one of his first clients after about a year and a half. Lease contract lengths vary, but they can run up to five years.

Also, a portion of your rent payments will be saved and put towards your down payment or closing costs once you are ready to buy.

Qualifications for this program include your income and work history. To learn more, contact the My Lease 2 Own program at (775) 297-4977 or http://mylease2own.com/.
