Reno Aces Host World Series Game 1 Watch Party

Posted: Updated:

The Reno Aces are inviting fans to a viewing party at the Freight House District Wednesday night, as the National League's San Francisco Giants take on the Detroit Tigers of the American League in Game One of the 2012 Major League Baseball World Series.

The Freight House District will open at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The game will be shown on the televisions in Bugsy's and on the Aces Ballpark scoreboard. Happy hour specials, including $2 Coors Light, $3 Blue Moon, $4 house wine, 25-cent wings, $1 corn dogs and $5 pizzas, will run for the duration of the evening.

The event is family-friendly and free of charge. Fans can enjoy free parking in the Freight House District parking lot.

"The first thing is there are great flat screen TVs, all over the place. Food and drink specials, so you are getting all the amenities you would get at a great sports bar," said TJ Lasita, a spokesman for the Reno Aces. "The great thing about it  is when you look out the window, you aren't looking out onto the street or office building, you are looking onto the Aces ballpark field."

Reno's Pacific Coast League Cchampionship trophy and the Triple-A National Championship trophy will be on display. In addition, attendees will have the chance to win great prizes, including Aces tickets, championship gear, a luxury suite for a game in 2013 and more.

First pitch is set for 5 p.m. PT at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
