Voters Prepare to Watch Presidential Debate

Posted: Updated:

Both, President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney will take center stage Monday night for the third and final presidential debate.

The focus of the debate is foreign policy.

I hit the streets and asked voters if they plan on watching the debate and if so, why.

"Because I just like to know what's going on," said Charlene Taylor from Reno. "I like to hear both sides and their opinions."

Another woman from Reno said she believes everybody should watch because it's their duty to be informed and know both candidates.

I also wanted to know what folks want to hear from the candidates and who they will be watching more closely. Here's what they had to say.

"We know where Obama stands on foreign policy because he's the president," said Charlotte Graham of Reno. "So, he's privy to all this information and so it will be interesting to find what Romney knows or feels he can do."

"I'm hoping one of the candidates will rise above all the negativity and just really tell us how he feels and what he plans to do," said Dawna Mantei of Reno.

"It's just time for it all to be over," said Bill Kalkbrenner of Reno.

The debate airs Monday night at 6pm on Channel 2.

You can watch tonight's debate live on Channel 2 starting at 6pm and will be moderated by Bob Schieffer of CBS News.

John Ascuaga's Nugget is holding a bi-partisan debate watch party from 6-7:30 p.m. inside the casino cabaret.

The Dan Mason Show on News Talk 780 KOH will also be on-hand, too, doing a live broadcast and pre-debate interviews with local politicians and candidates starting at 3 p.m.

For more information visit janugget.com or call 775-356-3300.

Then Tuesday at 6pm, Larry King will moderate a debate featuring third-party candidates. You can watch that debate live online at ora.dot.tv.
