Harrah's Reno packed more than 700 care packages to ship overseas to local soldiers.

This is the third year for the Harrah's Hero Program where employees put together packages to try and make deployment a little easier.

"We're sending them over amenities: shaving cream, dentals, soaps, hair shampoo, lotions, candy, cookies. And, having been in contact with the guys over there, they requested hot drinks. They tell me it's winter already," says Janet Leis. 

Many soldiers getting packages this year were stationed at Stead Air Force Base before leaving for Afghanistan in February.

The care packages were largely paid for by a recent fundraising carnival.
