Final 'Stand Up for Education' Event Monday Night

Posted: Updated:

Funding for education is always a hot topic during election season and tonight parents can meet the candidates for Washoe County School Board.

"Right now we have four out of seven seats that are open, so it's an incredibly important election," says Jill Tolles.

This is the fourth and final "Stand Up for Education" event.

They've been held by the group "Parent Leaders for Education" over the past month to let the public met the candidates running for offices that may influence education in northern Nevada.

Organizers say this is one of the few opportunities voters and parents will have to hear from the school board candidates.

"It's a great opportunity for parents and the public to listen to the candidates, find out where they stand on the issues. There's also going to be an open question and answer public comment time."

Tonight's event is at 6:30 at the Wooster High School theater at 1331 east Plumb Lane.

It is free and open to everyone.
