Around 10:15 Sunday night police responded to a report of shots fired at an address on Rota Court in the Wingfield Springs Area.
When police got there, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest.
After investigating police found the 26 year old victim was shot by his dad, Newton Byars-Swain. They say the two had been arguing all day and it then turned into a physical altercation where Byars-Swain produced a handgun, struck his son in the head with it and then shot him in the chest. Two neighbors also armed with hand guns came to render assistance.
The victim, Cameron Swain was taken to the hospital where he is in stable condition.
His father will be charged with attempted homicide and battery with a deadly weapon causing bodily harm.
