Hiker In Hospital After 100-Foot Fall Near Emerald Bay

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office says a woman received major injuries after falling about 100 feet in the Lake Tahoe area Saturday.

Deputies tell Channel 2 News that the unidentified 20-year old California woman was hiking Eagle Falls, near Emerald Bay, when she fell.

When search and rescue crews were able to get to her, she was air-lifted by helicopter to Renown Regional Medical Center. Deputies or hospital officials do not have an update on her condition at this time.
