Washoe County Registrar Temporarily on Medical Leave

Washoe County Registrar, Dan Burk, is temporarily on medical leave after undergoing intestinal surgery earlier this week. Burk is recovering from the unexpected surgery and is doing well according to a family spokesperson. Burk is expected to be back at the Registrar's Office in approximately two weeks.

During Burk's absence, Luanne Cutler, currently the assistant to the Registrar will be acting as Senior Deputy Registrar. "The team in the Registrar's Office is well prepared for the upcoming General Election," said Cutler. "Our staff has been working diligently to get ready for November 6th for quite some time. In addition, the independent Election Certification Board is already in place monitoring the election preparations."

On Wednesday, Burk said, "I have the upmost confidence in Luanne during my absence. She has been with the Washoe County Registrar of Voters Office for 22 years and has extensive knowledge of the election process."

Cutler would like to remind citizens that the Registrar's Office is extending staff hours for last minute voter registration. The Office will be open Saturday and Sunday, October 13 and 14, from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., and on Monday and Tuesday, October 15 and 16 from 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. Other important dates:
