Carson Salvation Army Seeks New Christmas Distribution Location
The Salvation Army of Carson City is looking for a new warehouse to hold its annual Christmas Distribution event.
"The location we've had for years has been leased out, so we can't use it this year," said Lt. Mark Cyr, Salvation Army Carson City Corps Officer. "We are in a desperate need to find someone who can donate a large room facility so that we can do this event."
The Salvation Army is seeking a warehouse-like facility that is at least 3,500 square feet, with plenty of parking space and restrooms. The space would be used to store food boxes and donated toys, and then for the distribution event in which more than 300 local families will come to receive their Christmas assistance items. The Salvation Army hopes it can use the facility in a 12-day span, from December 10-21.
"Without a warehouse, it will be very difficult to operate a distribution event," Lt. Cyr said. "My own facility is simply not large enough to host this large scale operation."
Anyone who may be able to assist with this request can call The Salvation Army of Carson City at (775) 887-9120.
