Gov. Sandoval: No Decision Yet on Medicaid Expansion
Gov. Brian Sandoval says he won't decide whether expanding Medicaid eligibility as called for under the federal health care reform law will be part of his budget proposal until after the November election and state revenue projections are made in December.
Speaking to reporters Tuesday in Carson City, the Republican governor said his administration is still awaiting guidance from the federal government on various aspects of the law.
Sandoval has told state agencies to prepare "flat" budgets for the upcoming biennium, in part because of anticipated costs associated with the health care reform law.
Agency budget requests are being submitted this week.
The governor also says restoring state employee salaries is still a consideration if money is available. (AP)
