Sparks Police Look For Night Club Shooting Suspect
Sparks Police are looking for a suspect in a shooting at a night club early Sunday morning.
Police responded to the Vaqueros night club on Oddie Boulevard around 2 a.m. for a report of a large fight and shooting in the parking lot.
When officers arrived on scene, witnesses told them the people involved in the fight fled east on Merchant Street toward Rock Boulevard. Police say because of the number of people involved in the fight and its nature, they requested help from the Reno Police Department and Washoe County Sheriff's Office.
The shooter was described as a 20 to 25-year old Hispanic man with a heavy build and bald head. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and khaki pants.
Police later learned from Renown Regional Medical Center that they received a victim with a gunshot wound. Hospital officials say the 19-year old victim received a non-life threatening wound to the upper torso.
Police say about two hours before this incident happened, they received a tip from a Secret Witness text that there were two men in a green Jeep in the parking lot of the business arguing. One of them was reportedly armed with a gun.
According to the information in the tip, the armed person in that call was an unknown race male, about 5'4" tall, wearing a blue and black hat with a checkered, long sleeve shirt.
Officers responded to that call but were not able to find anyone related to that particular incident.
It is not known if the two calls are related, but police say the investigation is continuing.
