Cooks at Eldorado Casino have been working hard for days in preparation for this weekend's 31st annual Great Italian Festival.
After more than three decades, cooks say they have a good idea of how much food to make for this weekend's festival. To make enough food to feed all the hungry people, cooks started preparing as early as Monday.
Of course pasta is one of the staples of any Italian meal, which is why cooks have two tons of it ready for Saturday and Sunday.
"We're probably going to go through, we're probably going to make about one million tortelini, probably close to one million ravioli."
Much of that pasta is currently sitting in bags and buckets, ready to be cooked and served.
One of the chefs at the Eldorado showed us around the kitchen where cooks are busy making marinara sauce.
They expect to serve more than 1,000 pounds of chicken this weekend as well.
And while the cooks are preparing to feed people--members of the Zoppe and Italan Family Circus are preparing to entertain them.
They expect big crowds to come see them perform this weekend.
"They can expect to see a circus as a child would imagine a circus. There's horses, there's dogs, there's comedy, there's trapeze, there's juggling. It's a real circus," says Giovannia Zoppe.
Saturday the festival runs from 10am to 6pm and Sunday from 9:30am to 5:30pm.
