Authorities Look For Escaped Inmate In South Lake Tahoe - KTVN Channel 2 - Reno Tahoe News Weather, Video -

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office says they are looking for a man who they say escaped while he was on his way to a California state prison Thursday night.

Deputies tell Channel 2 News that 51-year old Anthony Katello (see right) was granted a 3-hour release by a judge to take care of some business before going to prison on a charge of spousal battery.

Deputies say Katello was driven to Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe, when he took off on foot. Authorities from several different agencies have been trying to find him since.

He described as a white man with brown hair, 5'11" and about 180 lbs.
