Orange cones still fill Moana Lane as construction continues on the widening project. But there is some good news for drivers.
The Moana widening project is now set to be finished by mid to early November - six weeks ahead of schedule.
"There's been a lot of resources out here by Q&D Construction. They've been working 6 days a week, often double shifts to get this project done," says RTC Project Manager Doug Maloy.
The Regional Transportation Commission is working with businesses affected by construction. That includes Q's Billard Club owner Tony Shulman. He says customers appeared to be frustrated all summer long.
Shulman is optimistic business will pick up though - especially considering traffic hasn't been as bad as he expected. "Because I drive in this neighborhood everyday and I can get to and from work as necessary. I think it looks a little worse than it is with the slowdown in traffic."
RTC has a website set up for drivers and business owners who want to keep track as crews continue to make progress. Just go to http://www.getmoanarolling.com
