The University of Nevada's earthquake lab took a big step toward completion on Thursday morning.
A crane added the final beams to the top of the seismology lab's expansion.
Once finished the university will house the largest seismology lab in the country, which will help attract students to northern Nevada.
"This is a state of the art facility it's going to educate our current students in the most state of the art facility in the world probably," says College of Engineering Dean Manos Maragakis.
Last week two massive steel bridge trusses were maneuvered to the university across city streets.
The expansion is the result of almost three decades of planning and work.
