According to the Nevada State Health Division, the single best way to prevent the flu is to get vaccinated each fall. You can also practice good health habits to help stop the spread of germs – frequent hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home when sick.
The Health Division and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention encourage everyone 6 months of age and older to get an annual flu vaccination to reduce the risk of illness and to prevent the spreading of the virus to others.
The Health Division and Carson City Health and Human Services will provide the following free (unless noted) flu vaccine clinics in Lyon County:
October 9th – Silver Springs Senior Center, Ft. Churchill Road – 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
(Medicare billing or $20.00 fee)
October 20th – Dayton Food Pantry, Sutro Elementary School – 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
October 24th – Silver Springs Food Pantry, Silver Stage School – 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
October 24th – Silver Springs Students, Silver Stage School – 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
October 30th – Fernley High School, 1300 Highway 95A, South – 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
