Presidential Candidates Prep for First Debate

Posted: Updated:

President Obama is in southern Nevada tonight preparing for Wednesday night's debate in Colorado.

Last night in Las Vegas he tried to downplay expectations. "Governor Romney is a good debater. I'm just ok."

GOP Nominee Mitt Romney has spent at least eight days over the past month preparing for the debates. He's did some last minute studying in Denver ahead of a rally there Monday night.

Sunday, Romney's running mate Paul Ryan also downplayed the importance of the debates.

But New Jersey Governor Chris Christie told CBS' Bob Schieffer the debate will shift the race in the Republican's favor. "He's going to contrast what his view is and what the president's record is and vision for the future, and this race is going to be turned upside down come Thursday morning."

Wednesday's debate at the University of Denver will focus on domestic policy.

You can watch the entire 90 minute long debate live right here on Channel 2. Coverage begins at 6 pm Wednesday local time.
