Posted: Updated:

Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the man who escaped from the Storey County Jail early Monday morning.

Authorities say when a deputy was doing cell checks Jeremy James Morales locked the deputy in his cell and then escaped.

Morales was being held in the Storey County Jail after he pled guilty to sexual assault involving a minor.

Morales was scheduled to be sentenced to the Nevada Corrections Department today.

Morales is 5' 11" and weighs about 220 pounds.

The 38-year-old was unarmed at the time of escape but police say he should be considered dangerous.

Morales was last seen wearing a black and white jail jumpsuit and flip flops.

Several agencies helped in lending a hand in the search. The Washoe County Sheriff's Office sent their RAVEN helicopter to Storey County and NHP set up road blocks throughout the Virginia City area.

If you've seen him your asked to call 911.
