A man is in the hospital after a train hit his dune buggy.
The accident happened in Farad, California -- several miles west of the Reno/Sparks area -- near the Nevada/California state line.
The California Highway Patrol says a man and a woman climbed out of the Truckee River after rafting Saturday afternoon, and they hopped onto their dune buggy. An oncoming train hit the dune buggy moments later.
The woman was able to jump to safety, but the man was hurt and taken by Careflight to Renown.
There's no word yet on his condition.
