© Sean Robert McMillin's FacebookThe Blount County Sheriff's Office in Tennessee is investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that claimed the life of a Marine with a Northern Nevada tie Friday.
Deputies tell Channel 2 News that 24-year old Sean McMillin was driving on a stretch of U.S. Highway 29 (Calderwood Highway) in Maryville, Tennessee on Friday when he lost control of his motorcycle on a curve.
Deputies say he then went 75-feet down an embankment. After rescue crews pulled McMillin back to the main road, he was taken to a hospital in the area, but was pronounced dead on the way there.
Deputies could only tell Channel 2 News that McMillin was a native of Cherry Point, North Carolina, where he was stationed.
However, several family friends have called our newsroom and told us he is a Reno native and attended North Valleys High School.
