
The Sparks City Council has approved a new contract worth more than $300,000 to improve Victorian Square Plaza.
The council says Reno-Tahoe Construction will use the money to move the Victorian Square clock and build a new kiosk, which will create more open space.
The city hopes that will help attract more special events to the heart of Sparks.
Yesterday, the city also approved the another step in the redevelopment of a 10-acre parcel of land north of the Sparks Marina.
A company, AED Investments wants to build facilities to help provide services to the elderly there.
It has six months to finish its proposal.
