'Beat the Rebels' Blood Drive This Week at UNR

Every fall, the University of Nevada and UNLV have a different kind of rivalry by competing in the number of blood donations.

And this week, you can help UNR beat UNLV by donating blood at the UNR campus.

The bloodmobile will be parked in front of the Joe Crowley Student Union this week. It'll be there from 11am until 5pm through Friday.

And you can make an appointment by calling 785-6623.

Officials with United Blood Services say UNLV won last time around, so they're hoping northern Nevada will step up this year.

By the way, this year's UNR/UNLV football matchup and "Battle for the Cannon" are happening in Las Vegas on October 13th.
