COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Cody Fajardo (Nevada), Nat Berhe (San Diego State) and Quentin Breshears (Fresno State) are the Mountain West Players of the Week for games through Sept. 8. Fajardo earns Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Berhe garners the Defensive Player award and Breshears receives Special Teams recognition. This marks the second career MW weekly accolade for Berhe and first for Fajardo and Breshears.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

CODY FAJARDO, NEVADA

Sophomore, Quarterback, Brea, Calif./Servite HS

Cody Fajardo compiled 405 yards of total offense and accounted for three touchdowns in Nevada's 32-31 loss to USF. The sophomore quarterback completed 27-of-38 pass attempts for 271 yards and a touchdown, and rushed 18 times for 134 yards, including TD runs of one and 14 yards. The Brea, Calif., product hit nine different receivers during the game and did not throw an interception for the second straight contest. Fajardo's 100-yard rushing performance was the third of his career at Nevada, while his 134 yards on the ground marked the second-highest tally of his career. Fajardo is the first MW quarterback to record a 100-yard rushing performance since Wyoming's Brett Smith ran for 140 yards against New Mexico on Nov. 19, 2011. Fajardo's 405 yards of total offense rank as the most in a single game in the MW this season and 11th-best nationally.
