Part of I-580 Closed For Few Hours After Report of Shooting

The Nevada Highway Patrol says a part of Interstate-580 was closed for a few hours after a report of a shooting early Saturday morning.

Troopers responded to the part of the freeway, near Eastlake Boulevard in the Washoe Valley area.

Troopers say someone reported hearing a gunshot and authorities on scene closed down the north and southbound lanes from Pagni Lane to Eastlake to see if they could find anything. A Washoe County Sheriff's Office RAVEN Helicopter was also searching the area.

Troopers did not have new information, in regards to whether crews found anything in their search as of 9:15 a.m. Saturday.
