Protesters Gather in Sparks During Paul Ryan's Speech
We spoke with some President Obama supporters who were protesting during Vice Presidential Nominee Paul Ryan's speech at Peterbilt Trucks in Sparks on Friday.
They said Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan aren't right for this country, telling us they will only revisit policies that have already failed.
"I'm against the platform in general, particularly the budget he's put forward that will bring our country back into the Bush years where we almost came to a collapse," said President Obama supporter CJ Miller.
At Friday's event, Danny Thompson, the Executive Secretary Treasurer of Nevada's American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations addressed protesters, chanting and holding signs in support of President Obama.
One of the issues discussed was Medicare. The protesters say Republicans want to end Medicare and turn it into a voucher program.
They also said the middle class will suffer if Romney and Ryan are elected in November.
"Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan want to raise taxes on middle class families, while cutting taxes for millionaires like Mitt Romney. So, there's a very clear choice for this election, who is fighting for the middle class? That's Barack Obama and Joe Biden," one protester said.
