Volunteers Needed for Truckee River Cleanup This Saturday

Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful is looking for volunteers to take part in the 15th Annual Truckee Rive Cleanup later this Saturday.

The big event is set for 8:30am to noon.

Volunteers will help clean up trash and beautify different parts of the river. Cleanup sites include Crystal Peak Park, Mayberry Park, Oxbow Nature Study Area, Lockwood, Fisherman's Park, Rock Park, Glendale Park, Cottonwood Park, Reno Sparks Indian Colony Health Center, McCarren Ranch and Gateway Park.

At last year's event 12.5 tons of trash was removed from the river thanks to more than 600 volunteers.
