NV Energy Warns about Phone Call Scammers

NV Energy is warning customers about a scam designed to get credit card numbers and personal information.

The company says scammers have been calling customers threatening to turn off their power if they don't pay.

NV Energy says they only contact customers about utility payments through the mail, never by phone and this is a scam.

If you get a call like this, you can call NV Energy at (775) 834-4444 or toll-free at 1-800-962-0399.

You're also encouraged to report the incident to police.
