Thursday the Environmental Protection Agency announced almost half a million dollars will be coming to the University of Nevada to develop sustainable drinking water.
The EPA awarded $499,743 to the University as part of a $1.5 million grant to three universities. The money will be used to research how to remove contaminants from water and build a small scale model that uses waste heat to operate.
The University of Florida and Clarkson University in New York were also awarded money.
