Housing Report for July Shows Increasing Home Values

Posted: Updated:

It's a little good news for our struggling housing market. According to a CoreLogic report released Tuesday morning, homes prices in Reno-Sparks are gaining value.

The report says home prices in Reno-Sparks have risen by 6.2% from July 2011 to July 2012. And looking at the changes from month to month, local home prices are up 3.3%. Even so, the report shows Nevada still leading the country when it comes to falling prices from the peak of the market to today. CoreLogic says that number is down 56%.

It's the same upward trend nationally. CoreLogic says nationwide home prices have climbed 3.8% year-over-year and 1.3% month-over-month.

CoreLogic analysts say based on the data, they expect national home prices to increase by almost 5% in August compared to the same time last year.
