The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating two separate fatal accidents. One happened on Mt. Rose Highway, the other on Highway 50.
The accident on Mt. Rose Highway involved 2 vehicles and happened just before 3:30pm Monday on Highway 431 near the Sky Tavern ski area. Authorities tell us a male motorcyclist died.
Officers also don't know if alcohol or drugs were involved.
No other information is available.
And - troopers also tell us another fatal accident on Highway 50 west involving a female motorcycle passenger near Logan's Creek happened just before 3:15pm Monday.
Authorities tell us two people were on the motorycle; the male driver was flown by Careflight to an area hospital. His condition remains unknown.
Eastbound lanes are currently closed as authorities investigate the accident scene. But - westbound lanes remain open and are sharing both traffic directions.
Troopers say to avoid the both areas, but if you can't, be prepared for possible delays.
