A 41-year-old endurance athlete is attempting something no one has ever done before - swim the circumference of Lake Tahoe without stopping.
Jamie Patrick started his 'Tahoe 360' journey early Friday morning. He plans to swim for a total of 40 hours.
Thursday night he said he thinks swimming during the day is the most difficult part of his 68 mile journey. "I think this first 17 hours is going to be difficult getting to the nighttime. I think once I get to night I'll be able to feel more peaceful."
He's trying to stay 200-300 feet from shore at all times.
Patrick's website says he is attempting the swim to raise money for the Sierra Club Water Sentinels.
