Police Arrest Woman on Child Abuse Charge

Sparks police have arrested the owner of a daycare accused of physically abusing a 3-year-old boy.

Police arrested 53-year-old Carla Phillips on one count of felony child abuse Monday after investigating the alleged abuse.

Police say Washoe County Social Services received a video by a parent showing Phillips hitting the child at Creative Childcare and Learning Center on Pyramid Way in Sparks.

No other victims have been identified, but authorities are still investigating and asking anyone with information to come forward.
