The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says three men are behind bars for creating a large marijuana grow site.

Deputies say 28-year old Rafael Salas-Silva of Sparks, 26-year old Martin Urioste-Maciel of Pasco, Washington and 23-year old Alberto Mendez-Arroyo of Reno were arrested on Wednesday.

They're accused of growing more than 1,000 marijuana plants in the James Canyon area of Douglas County. Their next scheduled court appearance is on August 30th.

If convicted, they could each face anywhere from 10 years to life in prison and a $10,000,000 fine.
