The Nevada Highway Patrol has released the names of the all victims in Tuesday's crash on Highway 50 in Lyon County.
Troopers say a Dodge Ram 250 and Ford F350 with cattle trailers were heading east on Highway 50 near Dayton just after 8:45am Tuesday when the Dodge's trailer started swerving.
That truck swerved into oncoming traffic and hit a GMC truck traveling west head on. Both trucks caught fire.
Troopers say the driver of the Dodge suffered serious injuries and was flown by Careflight to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. He's been identified as 19-year-old Daniel Holley of Dayton. Two people inside the Ford, 47-year-old Robert L. Holley of Dayton (Daniel's father) and 9-year-old Anna Holley (Daniel's sister), suffered minor to moderate injuries and were transported by ambulance to Renown. NHP says their conditions remain unknown.
Three people inside the GMC truck died: the driver, 47-year-old Troy Sibson of Fernley, passenger 52-year-old Noel (Mike) Sotka of Fernley and passenger 30-year-old Douglas (Jason) Counterman of Fernley.
A passenger inside the Dodge also died - 18-year-old Ford Tucker of Fallon.
Daniel was transferred to the University of California, Davis Medical Center Tuesday night for further medical treatment.
One cow was killed and several others escaped from both trailers. In all, 14 cows were later transported to Fallon to be checked by a veterinarian. The animals were apparently being transported from the Dayton area to the Fallon Livestock Exchange.
Highway 50 was closed for several hours as troopers investigated the accident. Traffic was re-routed onto a nearby dirt road.
Witnesses to the accident are encouraged to call NHP Trooper Doug Hildebrand at 775-689-4623 with more information.
An account has been set up to help the Holley family pay for their medical bills and the cost of the cattle lost in the accident.
