Air Quality Enforcement Benefits Washoe Schools

The Washoe County School District will get a more than $35,000 boost in funding thanks to air quality violations by local businesses.

The Washoe County Health District says from July 1,2011 to June 30, 2012, it fined 18 companies ranging from $200 to $10,000.

Among the violations were: operating without a permit, failure to comply with permit conditions, failure to control dust, and failure to sample for and notify of asbestos.
