Holloway Fire Now 97% Contained

The lightning-sparked 461,047 acre Holloway Fire near the Nevada-Oregon border is now 97% contained.

Fire officials say it's fully contained on the Nevada side. Fire crews say rehabilitation efforts are progressing well on the Nevada side, while firefighters continue to hold and secure firelines on the Oregon side.

The wildfire started on August 5th about 25 miles east of Denio, Nevada. The fire has burned 215,542 acres in Nevada and 245,505 acres in Oregon. It's expected to be fully contained Tuesday night - in both states.

A fire shelter was deployed by one firefighter who sustained minor burn injuries.

The fire is on three BLM Districts (Burns, Vale, and Winnemucca).

There 22 engines, 19 bulldozers, 6 water tenders, and 2 helicopters at this fire.
