The Reno Police Department has put a deputy chief on administrative leave pending an investigation into multiple misconduct accusations.
Police Chief Steven Pitts said placing Deputy Chief David Evans on administrative leave is in the best interest of the community and all parties involved.
This comes after reports that a recorded conversation of Evans could be used in the investigation.
Earlier this week, Channel 2 reported former Sergeant Jim Stegmaier - through his attorney - is alleging superiors sexually harassed him with a pornographic video and falsely accused him of misconduct after he tried to report other misconduct cases himself.
Stegmaier is under investigation for misconduct himself - after reportedly pointing his gun at another officer.
Chief Pitts says the department has requested audio evidence from Stegmaier's attorney so the investigation can continue, but says the city has only been given incomplete, edited versions.
