Hot August Nights continue through the weekend with cruises, a film festival, drag races, fireworks and even a parade. But there are a lot of other things on our list as well.
You can step into the 1920's at the Great Gatsby Festival and Tea at the Tallac Historic Site at Valhalla on Saturday. Great Gatsby Festival at Valhalla:
Return to the 1920s and enjoy the 27th annual Great Gatsby Festival at the Pope Estate at the Tallac Historic Site, Aug. 11-12. Visitors will find antiques, Roaring '20s era costumes, live music, interactive historic house tours, vintage auto rides, ice cream, cotton candy and vintage kid's games.
Sunday afternoon the Tahoe Heritage Foundation holds the annual Gatsby Tea. Volunteers decorate and host tea tables and serve Gatsby era sweets and savories. The highlight of the afternoon is the fashion show of vintage clothing; themes have ranged from "pack for a cruise" to "summer at the Lake" to "wedding trouseau." Tickets are $35 each or $350 for a table of up to ten guests and are sold through the Tahoe Heritage Foundation; the event generally sells out early.

Sierra Nevada College Submerges Concerts:
Lake Tahoe Summerfest is pleased to announce a series of 3 chamber music concerts on each of the first three Saturday evenings in August.
