Sparks Police: Traffic Accident Seriously Injures Two On Motorcycle

Sparks Police are investigating a traffic accident that seriously injured two people on a motorcycle Thursday evening.

Police say it happened near the intersection of 4th Street and Lincoln Way around 5:45 p.m.

A mother and daughter were ejected from their motorcycle after they were hit by a Toyota Sedan, driven by a 21-year old Sparks resident. The car was trying to make a left turn onto Lincoln Way into the motorcycle's path.

The 54-year old driver of the motorcycle received several injuries, including a dislocated shoulder, broken arm and multiple cuts.

Her 28-year old daughter, who is 8-months pregnant, suffered a life-threatening head injury. Police say initial reports show the baby was not injured.

The 44-year old passenger of the Toyota suffered head and wrist injuries and was taken to the hospital. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.
