Thursday the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce endorsed Senator Dean Heller as their candidate for U.S. Senate.
"We share a similar philosophy and so, it's like a family member honestly and we understand the important role that Nevada plays in the country's economy," Margaret Spellings of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce explained at Thursday's event.
Chamber of Commerce representatives and Senator Heller met with the owner of Sparks Florist Thursday morning. They say Heller's record in the House of Representatives and the Senate is better for small businesses than his democratic opponent, Congresswoman Shelley Berkley.
But a Berkley representative told us, Berkley is actually the one who supports small businesses, while Senator Heller favors large corporations.
Berkley's campaign also said she was never able to sit down with the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce due to scheduling conflicts. "The Berkley campaign did return phone calls to get back to the Chamber, it was a matter of scheduling and they did say she would be more than happy to sit down with the Chamber during the August break," Pam duPre, the Executive Director of the Washoe County Democratic Party said Thursday.
